A Special Message from Gulf War Veteran Floyd Keck
name is Floyd and I am a disabled Gulf War Veteran. I served eight
years in the United States Military until I was medically discharged. A
year-and-a-half ago, my spouse and I separated and her house was being
foreclosed. I had nowhere to go. WSOS helped me find a rental property
in Tiffin, where I could be closer to my father. My father is my
transportation for all of my needs. WSOS then introduced me to Seneca
County Habitat for Humanity. After applying, I was so excited to find
out I was accepted into the program. Now I am just waiting for the home
to be finished at 272 Third Ave., Tiffin. The foundation and decking of
my home were started in August. During the last two weeks in October
the walls and roof trusses went up. Now the shingles and blue board are
up, and windows and doors are installed. Future construction had to be
put on hold until Spring. I cannot believe that I will actually have a
home sometime in 2017. Everyone needs a place to call home. Thank you
Seneca Habitat for Humanity for your help.
is so excited for this home ownership opportunity. By helping families
build or improve a place they can call home, we help them achieve the
strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life
for themselves and their families.
In the past 30 years
Seneca Habitat for Humanity has built over 39 homes. We provided
decent, affordable homes for many families here in our community. Can
you help us build more houses such as Floyd’s? It is people like you
that truly make the world a better place to live. Everyone needs a
place to call home.
Here are how your donations could help
Floyd or another family. $17 to buy an interior door knob, $40 for a
box of drywall screws, $50 to buy door trim for bedrooms, $100 to buy a
bedroom window, $500 will buy vinyl flooring for the kitchen and
bathroom. These are just some of the examples. Any amount/contribution
is most welcome and appreciated so we can continue to help people like
Only by working together can we make a difference.
